Robbie Williams: "Austria is a previously undiscovered jewel".

The musician plans to make Schladming shake.

Schladming-Dachstein will be held on 7th and 8th December 2023, to stage an extraordinary event. World star Robbie Williams returns to Austria for two additional concerts after his successful world tour. The Leutgeb Entertainment Group, together with the Schladming-Dachstein Region and the Schladminger 4-Mountain Ski Area (Hauser Kaibling, Planai, Hochwurzen and Reiteralm), presents an impressive stage show in the Planai Stadium.

Stage for international artists

The Ski Opening in the Planai Stadium is an annual fixture in the winter event calendar. In addition to the world star, numerous international acts such as "Die Toten Hosen", "Martin Garrix", "Dimitri Vegas", "Lost Frequencies" and "Timmy Trumpet" have already performed here. But what is on offer in 2023 has never been seen before and Robbie William's performance in Schladming is considered a special highlight.

To announce the concerts in person and at the same time get a picture of the breathtaking scenery, the star was a guest on July 23 on the Reiteralm. The international pop star's schedule is packed, because before his big performance in Schladming, he is wrapping up his world tour in Australia. After the short stage break the performance in Schladming-Dachstein finally follows.

Combination of technology and entertainment

The stage of this year's Ski Opening combines several hundred square meters with integrated LED walls and an abundance of spotlights and lasers designed to blend into the winter landscape. Finally, the coordinated pyrotechnics and laser show will set accents and provide surprise effects. Besides the actual show, the pre-announcement of the event was already eagerly awaited. During the press conference, the entertainer was flown in directly from Klagenfurt together with Governor Christopher Drexler and received by organiser Klaus Leutgeb, Schladming-Dachstein Managing Director Mathias Schattleitner and the managing directors of the Schladming 4-Mountain Ski Area in front of a wonderful Dachstein backdrop.

In addition to the top-class line-up on the podium, numerous guests of honour such as Barbara Eibinger-Miedl (Provincial Councilor for Economy, Tourism, Regions, Science and Research), Michael Feiertag (Managing Director of Styria Tourism), Christian Purrer (Spokesman for the Board of Energie Steiermark), Richard Rauch (4-Hauben chef), Hermann Trinker (Mayor of Schladming), Stefan Knapp (Mayor of Haus im Ennstal) and Roland Raninger (Mayor of Stainach-Pürgg) were guests at the press conference.

Strong connection to audience

During the press conference not only the concerts were presented, but the world star also took the opportunity to express his attachment to Austria and the domestic audience. "I have a strong connection to my audience in Austria and the memories of my shows here will always stay in my heart. Austria is a secret that's too well kept from the rest of the world," Williams explained.

Governor Christopher Drexler is also looking forward to the event: "The Ski Opening Schladming-Dachstein is known far beyond our borders as an event highlight. This year's star guest will take the event to a whole new level and make it even more spectacular than ever before. The Ski Opening 2023 will bring the Schladming-Dachstein Region and our Styria even more into the national and international spotlight and provide an additional boost for our tourism. We are proud to present the many benefits of the Green Heart of Austria to the thousands of guests."

Creating great things together

The fact that this sensation has come about after a three-year break at the start of the 2023/24 season is thanks to the entire Schladming-Dachstein region and the Schladming 4-mountain ski area with the Hauser Kaibling, Planai, Hochwurzen and Reiteralm mountains as a collective. So in cooperation with Leutgeb Entertainment Group a show will be held on the 7th and 8th December that visitors will remember for a long time.

"As a top ski region in the Alps, the Schladming-Dachstein Region represents vacation experiences at the highest level. With the appearance of world star Robbie Williams at this year's Ski Opening, we are once again underlining this position and, together with the mountain railroads of the Schladming 4-Mountain Ski Area, are sending out a strong signal for the region. For us as the Schladming-Dachstein Tourist Region, the Ski Opening with Robbie Williams is a brilliant start to the 2023/24 winter season," says TVB Managing Director Mathias Schattleitner.
